The boys end up deciding the class is "gay" and leave to start wrestling the way they observed on TV. After being pranked by a couple of employees at Denver Sea Park, Kyle mistakenly believes he hears the orca Jambu speak to him. The employees, pretending to be Jambu, tell Kyle that his real name is Willzyx and that he lives on the moon. Rallying some of the other South Park boys together, Kyle attempts to return Jambu to his "home" on the moon.

Super Best Friend

The rift formed between them helps Stan realize that what he most enjoyed about his success was not success for its own sake, but rather, sharing the experience with his best friend. Despite his short temper, Kyle has a wide imagination and is easily the most compassionate of the boys, evident by how he did not find the invasive gossip from Eavesdropper to be amusing unlike the majority of the other kids in his class. He shows genuine empathy by reasoning that others would not find the site to be funny if it wrote about them ("Bass to Mouth").

Or perhaps he is wary because of his parents, whose relationship at times slightly resembles 'master and pet' especially when his mother is protesting about things. After the commotion of the dance, Rebecca kisses Kyle again, though this was to be her last appearance on the show. It is likely that she decided to continue being homeschooled (whereas her brother Mark, who was also homeschooled, started going to public school). Kyle has not made any reference to her since the events in the one episode she appeared in, indicating that he got over her.

Death

Kyle is known to be the best basketball player at South Park Elementary, one of two sports at which Stan isn't the best (the other being Dodgeball, at which Pip is considered the best). However in the episode "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina", he goes to the all-state game tryouts and is rejected not because of his skills, but because of the fact that he's short and Jewish (rather than tall and black). He then changes his body to look tall and black, and the coaches let him on the team.

This is seen in "Casa Bonita", "Cartoon Wars Part I", "Kenny Dies" (see below), and other episodes. This may be due to an idealistic belief that there is some good in everyone, even in Cartman. Other times, Kyle makes it perfectly clear that he knows Cartman is manipulating him (or trying to), as in "Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes" and "Fat Butt and Pancake Head". In "Tonsil Trouble", Kyle cannot resist laughing at the irony that Cartman of all people was infected with HIV, feeling on some level that he deserves the disease. Kyle has also occasionally turned the tables and manipulated Cartman into doing foolish things, such as when he convinced Cartman that he would die and suggested he go out to the ocean to be a pirate in "Fatbeard".

While all four boys have been through adventures over the years and share similar goals of wealth and popularity, there is no weaker link between the four than the often intense rivalry between Cartman and Kyle. While the latter sees himself as more moral and philosophical, often trying to take the safest and most logical route, the notoriously stubborn and selfish Cartman will take what he wants by any means necessary, a common source of conflict between the two. The two have also been known to make bets with full intent of humiliating one another, such as the loser having to pay a sum of money, being each other's slave or on one famous occasion, suck the winner's balls. Cartman in particular takes extreme pleasure in Kyle's suffering- going as far as to break him in Ginger Cow and even fantasizing about his tears, oddly enough. Cartman himself has shown a disturbing lack of care for Kyle's wellbeing as well; whether it be laughing at his bodily mutation from a certain apple company, or offering him up to a room of very angry Germans. Despite his charming personality, Kyle has never made it passed one date with any of his love interests on-screen, meaning he's yet to have had an official girlfriend.

Their relationship is perhaps best summarized by Kyle in "The Entity", where he refers to Cartman as "my sort-of friend...ish." Kyle also saves Cartman from a Snooki that is raping him. In Jewpacabra, Kyle brings Cartman home in the middle of the night, tucking him in bed and even removing his shoes. At the end of the episode, he puts his hand on Cartman's shoulder and says that he believes Cartman's claims that he is Jewish now. Kyle has played a numerous amount of sports including Basketball, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Hockey, and Dodgeball. Kyle is known to be the best basketball player at South Park Elementary, one of two sports at which Stan is not the best (the other being Dodgeball, at which Pip is considered the best). However, in "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina", he goes to the all-state game tryouts and is rejected not because of his skills, but because of the fact that he is short and Jewish (rather than tall and black).

Alter Egos From Season Seven

Cartman is disliked by most of the South Park kids and Kyle is no exception, also getting referred to an 'asshole' by the adults. Although in "You're Getting Old", Kyle and Cartman are seen bonding closer to each other whilst Stan suffers his new found and alienating view that everything is "shitty". Nonetheless, The feud between the two has been a recurring theme since the show's beginning. Cartman and Kyle often exchange insults, with Kyle as the target of Cartman's anti-Semitism, and with Kyle taunting Cartman about his weight in return. Through the lens of elementary school buddies Kyle Broflovski, Stan Marsh, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, Parker and Stone lampoon current events with a ruthlessness that fans of the show have grown to love. The counterweight to all the craziness is Kyle, who (along with his best friend Stan) is usually the voice of reason in a town where the actions of adults can seem completely unhinged.

It turns out the list is rigged in Clyde's favor because his father owns a shoe shop, a shoe shop Bebe wants access to. Superficially, the story is full of the type of silly hijinks and gags that make "South Park" so much fun to watch. But, taken with many of the show's other Kyle-centric episodes, it paints a wider picture of Kyle's need to fit in and his troubled sense of self. In terms of broader "South Park" lore, it adds to the sense that Kyle maintains his troubled friendship with Cartman because looking down on him helps Kyle feel better about himself. Despite airing a matter of days after Saddam Hussein was discovered and captured by U.S. soldiers near his hometown in Iraq, "South Park" still managed to work the recent news into its ending. A solid holiday tale and road adventure in its own right, "It's Christmas in Canada" is one of those rare heartwarming episodes that shows Kyle's humanity through his compassion for his brother.

Kyle's friendship with Butters is fairly decent; Kyle generally treats Butters more nicely than the other boys (such as when he defended Butters for not kissing a girl in "Butters' Bottom Bitch"). However, he is not against using Butters as a "guinea pig" when it comes to experiments or undercover jobs, blaming him for writing The Tale of Scrotie Mcboogerballs in the episode of the same name. Conversely, Butters has been shown to harass Kyle, as shown in "The List," and he has also "bullied" him for being Jewish, though this is usually under Cartman's influence.

The plan almost works, but when Kyle learns Butters is missing, he postpones his birthday party to wait for his friend's return, forcing Cartman to improvise a more elaborate post-apocalyptic ruse. Just as he eventually ends up at Casa Bonita, the truth about Cartman's misdeeds comes out, causing everyone to turn on him. Club noting its role in drawing patrons to the real cult-favorite restaurant — a restaurant Trey Parker and Matt Stone have since purchased. It's also nice to see Kyle establishing boundaries for himself, even if those boundaries are immediately trampled on by Cartman.
